WindEurope (For members of WindEurope only) A list of opportunities for wind energy related research funding at European level.
Awesome! Thanks @WolfgangSchlez, and welcome!
It would be great to know if people have experience with any of these funding routes. @Ines - you’ve had some success with German BMWi funding in the past. Anything you want to share?
@WolfgangSchlez do you know if there are still funding opportunities this year? In Saxony-Anhalt, most of the subsidies seem to have been exhausted.
At the Uni we mostly got money from the German Federal Ministry for Economics and Climate Action (BMWK). They have a program called 7. Energieforschungsprogram which outlines the areas they fund in the energy sector, one of them being wind energy. They explicitly want applied projects, which could work well for early stage startups like us.
It’s a two stage proposal process, you need a consortium and as a startup you could partner up e.g. with a university. Deadlines for handing in the 1st stage proposal is always twice a year around March and September. The proposals and money is organised by the PtJ .
I’d be happy to help anybody who wants to know more!
No idea, you need to check with the region’s government for their future plans. My advice for a startup would be not to be fixated on a particular location. We are nimble and fast, so no reason not to play the system, the EU gives you great opportunities for mobility, but there are also options/chances outside the EU.
